Things that irritate us when riding a jeepney

O
ld /Damaged Jeepney. Owners and drivers should regularly check their jeepney if it is in good condition. They must see to it that their jeepney is clean and comfortable.
-No handle bars

-No rain covers
-Rusty body
-Dirty exhaust pipes
-Reserve tires is placed in side the passenger seats

Stalling (pa-ugat) tactics by drivers. We do understand that the more passengers they have, the bigger the income they get. But there are drivers who unnecessarily stops at every corner and to take a chance of getting a passenger.

Discourteous Passengers. Some passengers are just uneducated.
-"
Bayad! / Bayad o!" instead of saying "Palihog Bayad"
-Not saying "thank you"
-Stepping in someone's shoes/feet without saying sorry.
-Not sitti
ng properly
-Misbehaving kids
-Noisy/Tsismosa
-PDA lovers
-Bringing pets especially smelly dogs
-Pretending to
be asleep, not hearing you or not seeing your hand when your paying

The worst kind of passengers:
-Snatchers/Hold-up men

Iloilo Boulevard

Iloilo Boulevard is a 1.2km stretch of a well paved road starting from Andres Patahan in Tabucan, Mandurriao, Passing through Riverside Boardwalk, and ending in Barbeque Park along Diversion Road.

Closed to vehicular traffic from 5PM to 8AM, the Boulevard is the newest jogger's haven in Iloilo. Health-conscious Ilonggos come here to jog or even join the Tae-bo and aerobic exercises.

It is also a great place for skateboarding, longboarding, biking, and just plain walking along the scenic beauty of the place.

Other things to do in Iloilo Boulevard:

Watch the Sunrise/Sunset that reflects the mystic Iloilo River.

Hanging out with friends at the Bricked-laden Road of the Carpenter's Bridge.

Rent Bike or Pedicabs.

Enjoy food and drinks from restaurants near the Boulevard.

Eat Delicious filipino streetfoods such as fishball, sweetcorn on stick and buko juice.

Paupas Damang (Spider Fighting)

This month is a season for spider fighting, a recreational activity for young filipino kids and a gambler's alternative for cockfighting.

During nighttime, young boys searches for spiders in trees, warehouses, bushes and other places. Each spider caught are then housed in matchboxes.

Priced fighters are starved before the fight to add ferocity.

The fight begins when the two spiders are placed at each end of the stick, usually bukog(midribs of
coconut leaves), then manipulated until they wrestle each other. The first one to drop his opponent three times, kill or wrap, wins the fight.
